Conquering 90% of the known world by the age of 25, Alexander the Great led his armies through
22,000 miles of sieges and conquests in just eight years. Coming out of tiny Macedonia (today part of
Greece), Alexander led his armies against the mighty Persian Empire, drove west to Egypt, and finally
made his way east to India. This film will concentrate on those eight years of battles, as well as his
relationship with his boyhood friend and battle mate, Hephaestion. Alexander died young, of illness, at
                    33. Alexander's conquests paved the way for the spread of Greek culture (facilitating the spread of
Christianity centuries later), and removed many of the obstacles that might have prevented the
expansion of the Roman Empire. In other words, the world we know today might never have been if not for
                    Alexander's bloody, yet unifying, conquest.

3.98 12-204 Any Given Sunday DVD Very Good; Good
When a devastating hit knocks a professional football legend and quarterback Cap Rooney out of the
game, a young, unknown third-stringer is called in to replace him. Having ridden the bench for years
because of a string of bad luck stories and perhaps insufficient character, Willie Beaman seizes what
may be his last chance, and lights up the field with a raw display of athletic prowess. His stunning
performance over several games is so outstanding and fresh it seems to augur a new era in the history
of this Miami franchise, and forces aging coach Tony D'Amato to reevaluate his time-tested values and
strategies and begin to confront the fact that the game, as well as post-modern life may be passing him
by. Adding to the pressure on D'Amato to win at any cost is the aggressive young President/Co-owner of
the team, Christina Pagniacci, now coming into her own after her father's death. Christina's driving
desire to prove herself in a male dominated world is intensified by her focus on the marketing and
business of football, in which all coaches and players are merely properties.

On November 22, 1963, president John F. Kennedy is assassinated in Dallas. Lee Harvey Oswald is
arrested for the crime and subsequently shot by Jack Ruby, supposedly avenging the president's death.
An investigation concludes that Lee Harvey Oswald and Jack Ruby acted alone in their respective crimes,
but Louisiana district attorney Jim Garrison is skeptical. Assembling a trusted group of people,
Garrison conducts his own investigation, bringing about backlash from powerful government and political
                    figures.

They do however leave one person alive at every shootout to tell the story and they soon become a media
sensation thanks to sensationalized reporting. Told in a highly visual style.

Oliver Stone's homage to 1960s rock group The Doors also doubles as a biography of the group's late
singer, the "Electric Poet" Jim Morrison. The movie follows Morrison from his days as a film student in
Los Angeles to his death in Paris, France at age 27 in 1971. The movie features a tour-de-force
performance by Val Kilmer, who not only looks like Jim Morrison's long-lost twin brother, but also
sounds so much like him that he did much of his own singing. It has been written that even the
surviving Doors had trouble distinguishing Kilmer's vocals from Morrison's originals.
